Unusual 19th century sailor made carved FISH pie crimper in excellent original condition. The surface has a nice patina from age with mother of pearl eyes. The oxbone wheel is in good condition with one tiny chip (see photo).
Provenance = estate fresh out of a 1695 house located in SouthEastern Massachusetts.
Measures 5 inches long and the wheel measures 1-1/4 inches wide. Whalers / sailors would hand carve items during long periods at sea
to give to loved ones or to sell when they reached home.
