This is for a circa 1850 Solid 84 Russian Silver Basket. The bowl and base has a scalloped type design. The swinging handle features an intwined rope type design. The handle is marked on one side with a partial hallmark of what appears to be the city mark of St. Petersburg. The other side of the handle is hallmarked with 84 and a maker name of HH. The bottom is hallmarked with an assay master mark and dated 1850; HH for the maker; 84 for the Russian Standard of Silver; and a city mark of St. Petersburg. It is very well made. The condition is excellent with no major dents, scratches or major wear. There is minor wear and abrasions. There are a few very tiny and unnoticeable dings to the inside of the bowl. They are so small and unnoticeable that, I was unable to get them to show up in pictures. The inside bowl appears to have had a gold wash at one time. There is a little gold wash present in the four crevasses of the bowl. It measures about 9 3/4 inches in diameter. Without the handle, it stands about 3 1/4 inches tall and slopes down to about 2 3/4 inches in the middle. With the handle, it measure about 8 1/2 inches tall in total height. The base is is about 4 3/8 inches in diameter. It weighs about 19.48 Troy Ounces. Guaranteed original and as described. Please realize glare and reflections from lighting.
