Antique 19th Ottoman Turkey / Balkan Yataghan Sword w/ chiseled blade & Scabbard:

This large Yataghan has brass grips and grip strap, both traditionally shaped with the large, wide ears these swords are known for. The hilt is decorated with a chased foliage motif. The bolsters are steel, integral with the blade, and decorated with chiseled geometric shapes. The single edged straight blade has a single fuller on each side that runs from the forte to just shy of the tip. Both sides of the forte are decorated with chisel work in the form of geometric shapes, scrolling and foliage. The matching scabbard is also brass and is decorated with a series of embossed and chased geometric shapes. Guaranteed authentic and antique.
