Antique 19th-c. Tekke Turkmen Dowry Rug, good condition, spectacular colors:
$116.50

This is a beautiful antique late 19th-century Tekke Turkmen dowry rug with unusually fine colors, all organic dyes. The classic Tekke color scheme of all vegetal-dyed colors--madder red field, with apricot, two indigo blues, ivory and brown is complimented by two shades of cochineal insect-dyed reds, a deep wine and a pale pink. No synthetic dyes whatsoever. This is the real deal.It is 50\" x 43 3/4\" and very finely-woven with a floppy handle, at around 200 kpsi (c.20h x 10w). It is good condition with no repairs, except for some rebinding on the selvage and stitching securing either end. There are scattered moth bites and missing knots--the condition is accurately shown in the images. An appraisal for $1200 from Seattle rug dealer Jon Terry will be included with the rug, but this listing starts at just $100 with .A sleeve is sewn into the back for wall display, which is how I have shown it, but it could go on the floor (low traffic) with a good pad.
