 An antique Austrian / Bohemian pottery relief wall plaque by Johann Maresch, pattern number 5267, and dating to around the late 19th / early 20th century c.1900.

The hand painted plaque is circular in form and features a high relief depicting a room setting with a man and two women sitting around a table : the man in Bavarian / Austrian dress playing a zither whilst the two women, one with a dog on her lap, sit listening, and with low relief furniture in the background - please see all photos and click to enlarge.The rear of the plaque has a deep foot rim with twin moulded holes and a wire for hanging, and has the impressed pattern number \'5267\', \'JM\' (Johann Maresch), an infinity symbol, and \'MUSTERSCHUTZ\' (denoting a copyright design).

Size : Approx 13\" / 33cm diameter and 2\" / 5.3cm deep, just under 1.5 Kg unpacked (please email for overseas shipping quote).
