Antique 19thC Meiji Japanese Gold Lacquer & Shibayama Inlaid Kondansu Cabinet 0n Stand.

Nice Japanese 19th Century hand decorated small cabinet (Kondansu) with front gold lacquered door embellished with Shibayama inlay of mother of pearl and other carved elements of a bird and flowering chrysanthemum.

Which is a symbol that represents longevity and rejuvenation.

The door opens to reveal three fitted drawers decorated with leaves and flowerheads,

In overall in good condition with signs of wear and tear all commensurate with age .

There are signs of wear with some scratches,marks,dulling to the lacquer...may of had some cosmetic restoration in the past.. ALL as shown in photos etc....Nothing major,but noted.

The door hinges are good with the drawers and interior in very good condition.

The stand has repair to leg as shown with dulling,marking to the black lacquer.

Overall measurements on stand are a height of a 10.75\" or 27cms.

Across width measures 7\" or 18cms

Depth measures 10.5\" or 26.5cms.

Actual cabinet measures just under 8\" tall or 19.5cms with

a width of 6\" or 15.5cms and a depth of 9.5\" or 24cms.

Will display superbly in any period or contemporary setting.

Weighs 1.637 kilos unwrapped.
