Antique 19thC Meissen Porcelain Blue & White Pug Dog Paperweight Porzellan Mops:

For sale is a fun figural paperweight made by Meissen in the late 19th century. The bottom part is a long thin piece modeled with some relief detail and hand painted with a blue and white design based on their blue onion / straw flower pattern. The top part looks like a pedestal that has a blanc de chine pug dog on it that is superbly modeled and left in the white to show off the details and fit better with the design than a painted one would. He is quite cute which is probably why these are so popular. The piece is in perfect condition which is always nice. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords on the underside, a blue painter\'s mark 26. as well as the incised model number and an impressed number as shown. The entire piece is 2.25 inches tall, 7.5 inches long and just under 1.25 inches deep.
