This is a late 19th Century antique porcelain table box - casket of a large size.
So as you can see it is a relief molded porcelain box and the lid is attached with gilt base metal mount frame.. this would have been bright gilt when new.. its well faded and dull now.
It has a lock too but no key.
The box has shaped corners.. these are molded as well and it is all hand painted on the moulded classic - religious scenes.

It has then been highlighted in gold paint on the box edges and corners... some of this has rubbed off.

This box lid to be fair is slightly out of line with the base and its got a tatty bit of red material stuck inside the base and lid.
On the bottom of the box you can see an old paper lable which says something ... and a blue X mark.

The picture scenes are interesting on the box.
Lid ... ritual offering of the cow / bull with a massive axe with other people watching on and possibly other folks bringing gifts or offerings too.
Front ... not sure but it looks like a horse fight with riders.. someone has got injured or run over and they are being comforted by some ladies on the left ... two angels - cupids with bows at the top and a temple folly and shrubbery around.
Left side ... a crucifixion with onlookers.

Right side ... 2 semi naked ladies bathing by a stream with the two cupids above.

Back ... a boar hunt with horses, dogs and runners with long spears and a number of folks stood on the hill watching .. the temple folly and shrubbery.

The lid has inch deep sides and these have little figures too all very pleasant relaxing in gardens with dogs and birds..... 2 cupids with a lion pulling a chariot on the ends.

So it is rather interesting really.. the corners and top front and back edge have the most wear off the gilt paint.
It is just over 9 inch long x 5 inch wide x 5 inch tall and it weighs approx.....2 kilos .. which will have to be sent to you GLOBAL PRIORITY mail... the safest and quickest way to send heavy items.
