This is Happy Fat Buddha or Laughing Buddha, as he is famously called by non Buddhists, is undoubtedly one of the most famous and recognized image of a Buddha.The Happy Fat Buddha is in reality not a Buddha, at least, not yet.He is currently a Badhisattva and future Buddha who\'ll replace the existing Historical Buddha with is Gautama Buddha or Sakyamumi Buddha.The Happy Fat Buddha or Laughing Buddha is reality known as the Maitreya Buddha.The measures about 12\" tall and base is about 6\" x 4.5\".The Buddha handmade from one solid piece of boxwood. This statue came from private collections. The handmade figurine has a crack on the wood ( this is normal for over 100 years old figurine handmade from solid piece of wood).Over the years when the changing temperature and weather the wood can\'t stay in same condition.THIS IS VERY OLD HANDMADE BUDDHA.Please view photos carefully it is a part of description.
