Lovely Max Handwerck 27\" Bisque Child Doll.She is marked on the back of her head Max Handwerck, Germany, 4 1/2.
This is a rare find because she actually has her original dress, petticoat, onesie, shoes and wig. Her dress buttons up the back with 5 mother of pearl buttons. Her petticoat buttons up the back with 3 mother of pearl buttons. Her onesie snaps at the shoulders.
She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. She has a composition body. She has a full human hair wig and glass eyes. She has a pate under her wig.
Condition: Her head has no cracks, hairlines or chips, her body has surface dirt, her left wrist has some cracks but seems stable. There is flaking to the composition at her neck. There is a bandage around her chest but the area beneath seems stable. Her back has a hole covered in screen. This may have been for a cryer that does not work now.Her wig is in excellent condition. Her eyes close but not all the way and do not have the eyelid wax. Her dress has fading and the left sleeve has some damage to the lace at the wrist, there are some age stains on the petticoat and a hole near the left armhole. Her leather shoes are in good shape except for some cracking to the leather at the toes. I did not remove them in order not to stress them. There is a mother of pearl button missing on one of the shoes.
She will be packed very carefully, her head will be stuffed to protect the eyes. Thus her wig and pate will not be glued on.
