Here we have a reallywonderful Qing Dynasty cinnabar lacquer vasefeaturingmultiplefigural scenes.
This Qing period cinnabar vase dates 1890-1910, it has lots of fine detail and it is deeply carved.
In a deep cinnabar red it has different scenes on front, back and side.
The first scene features a scholar orteacherwith studentamid a background of rocks and lush willow trees.
In the second scene ascholarlyman is standing under a bonsai tree with morelandscapein the background.
The third scene depictsanotherscholarly man standing under a pagoda tree with rocks and landscape.
On the upper and lower areas are traditional carved Chinese lotus flowers and a scrolling pattern.
In the deepest carved areas are a geometric design of boxed lines and diamonds with center flowers.
There is black lacquer to the underside and inside of vase which are showing signs of age with crazing.
This vase measures 5\" tall, 3\" wide at the center and there is tarnish on the foot rim/top rim.
There islight age cracking on neck/foot rim and light loss of cinnabar in few areas.
The bottom is loose but has never been fully removed and it will needsome attention orgluing.
This is a really wonderful Qing period cinnabar vase and itwill make a nice additionto any collection.
