Antique 6" Folding Clasp Hunting Knife Stag Sheffield For Sale
Antique large 6" folding clasp hunting knife of very early crucible steel. High quality stag scales, early type iron scale pins. Iron bolsters from rolled metal sheets developed 1810. Clues indicate knife from Sheffield England between 1810 - 1830. Most English Sheffield knives were not marked prior to 1830. Single blade style was popular in American colonies based on drawings, paintings, and excavations. NKCA grades condition H = High, 10% wear excellent.
