Large polychrome antique vase marked on base \"C&H\", presumably Cumberlidge & Humphreys, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent c.1880s-1890s. Measures about 8 1/4\" tall. Top opening is 3 3/4\". The pattern is \"Japanese\". Appears to be a stenciled design with handpainting. The ground is ivory, with rust, peach, deep blue and gold decoration. The top rim is evergreen with gold. The colors are fresh and bold and the gold detailing give it a touch of sparkle. CONDITION: Expect fine crazing throughout typical of age and material. There is a tiny pinhead size loss on the top rim, but with a 25x loupe, it appear to be just an enamel loss and not a fleabite to the earthenware. It is extremely minor. A few tiny irregularities on foot. See photos below. Presents beautifully!
