An African bronze ceremonial pipe from the Bamileke people of Cameroon.This dates to the late 19th or early years of the 20th century.
This is a very large one for its type and is said to have chief connections due to the form and the use of the monkeys to the upper part.It weighs 2.84kgs in total and is 64 cms long.The main body of the pipe is 28cms tall.
This was collected by the last owners grandfather at the start of the 20th.It has come from a house clearance in the Cotswolds very recently so fresh to the market.
This is a rare African sculptural item and of museum quality
