Antique African clay libation jug from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) of Zande origin. The head is a women\'s and shows extremely well sculpted hair and facial features including extensive scarifications. The body of the jug shows incised designs representing additional scarifications. On the back is a spout for pouring liquid libations. A very fine piece with good detail. Measures 22cm (8.5\") high x 16cm (6.5\") body diameter x (4.5\") basal diameter.
