Antique Alvin 71/2\" Figural Raphael Sterling .925 Art Nouveau Sauce Ladle :
$695.00

Very desirable antique Art Nouveau figural sterling silver cream sauce ladle in the Raphael pattern with lovely young woman holding a flower. This uncommon ladle, which dates back to around 1902, was designed by Frederick Habensack and made by the Alvin Silver Company in Providence Rhode Island. There are 5 different Raphael patterns in total and this particular design appears to be one of the more difficult to find.
This ladle is approximately 7 1/2\" long and 2 3/4\" at its widest point in the bowl. The weight is about 3.8 troy oz or 118 grams. There is light wear and surface scratches normal for a sterling ladle of this age, There is no monogram and the overall condition appears to be very good to outstanding.
THERE IS A NEARLY IDENTICAL 7 1/2\" RAPHAEL PATTERN CREAM SAUCE LADLE ON AT PRESENT AND IT IS PRICED AT OVER $1100.00. IT ALSO HAS A MONOGRAM.
Please read the description, view the pictures carefully, and ask all questions prior to offerding on this ladle because all of my items are sold AS IS and there are NO REFUNDS.We accept Pay Pal. Should we receive a Pay Pal e-check, we reserve the right to wait until it clears Pay Pal (Between 3-6 days), prior to shipping each purchased item. We will be happy to combine shipping if given sufficient time.
Thanks for taking the time to view this listing and happy treasure hunting.
About Us
Our family of antiques Dealers/Collectors began back in the 1950s with my father, a well known dealer in New England who specialized in American and European art, silver and furniture as well as oriental rugs and estate liquidations.Over a period of 3 decades, my dad was generous enough to help my older brother, older sister, two younger sisters, my younger brother and I enter into this fascinating, exciting, rewarding and occasionally frustrating business. I started my 5 year apprenticeship with him back in the spring of 1973. In 1988, 15 years later, I was fortunate enough to start an antique sports collectibles sale, predominantly golf, in the state of Maine. In 1990, this sale was moved down to Andover, Massachusetts, where it remained through the spring of 1997. From 1988 through 1997 our sale competed directly with Sothebys and Christies of London England as well as Bonhams of Chester.
I\'ve also personally had the privilege of teaching multiple aspects of the antiques business to a local young lady, originally from Fayetteville, NC, who was unacquainted with antiques when we first met. Over the course of 7 years, however, she has gone from an antiques novice to one of the more knowledgeable American silver sellers on . I\'m am also happy to say that many of my business and personal Asian and silver collectibles were used to launch her business and career. The sale of these items benefited us both.
