Purchased in St. Louis, Missouri, by Mrs. Elizabeth Frazee of Belleview, Kentucky. According to family lore, her husband Dr. A. D. Frazee gave money to the Christian church, and Mrs. Frazee responded to his philanthropic habit by spending comparable sums on fine furnishings. After Dr. Frazee died in 1875, the family moved to Columbia, Missouri, where the cabinet passed into the possession of Elizabeth\'s daughter Mary Frazee Russell. In 1901, Mary and her husband Walter moved to Deming, New Mexico, believing the climate would improve her health. Five years later, Mary died and Walter moved the family to Coeur d\'Alene, Idaho, building a cabin of hand-hewn logs. When the cabin was ready, Walter sent to New Mexico for the cabinet and other furnishings, which were shipped to Idaho by wagon and rail, finally crossing Lake Coeur d\'Alene by steamboat. The cabinet then passed to Mary and Walter\'s daughter Julia Russell, who would marry Oliver Libby in 1930. In 1969, Julia gave the cabinet to Howard Libby, her son and only child. Howard, a Baptist pastor, moved the cabinet to his family\'s home in Wilsonville, Oregon, then on to Sweet Home, Oregon, Tualatin, Oregon, and Keizer, Oregon. Howard died in 2005, followed by his wife Dorothy in 2014. Offered for sale by Howard and Dorothy\'s children.
