Another user messaged me and said the following
Hi,

I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I saw your copper bookends on and recognized them. I don\'t think that they are from the Anaconda mine. I have a pair exactly like then and mine were cast at the White Pine Mine located in White Pine, MI. White Pine is just west of Ontonagon, MI. An old timer who worked in the mine said that they were caricatures of Miners (you cab see that they are wearing helmets).
