An antique Ansonia 'HABANA' model 8-day mantel, shelf or parlor clock with a soft and pleasant gong strike on the hour and half-hour,
currently in working order, c. 1901. The movement is stamped, "ANSONIA CLOCK CO., NEW YORK, 8, PATENTED JUNE 13, 1882".
The clock is currently running strong and keeping time, although I am selling this clock "AS IS", with no implied guarantee or warranty.
I have not cleaned this clock; it is in the same condition I received it in from an estate collection. This clock appears restored at
some point in its history as a reproduction brass/paper dial and phillips screws to secure the dial and the hinges show. The white
paper dial has the Ansonia trade mark and written at the bottom is, "MANUFACTURED BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO., NEW YORK,
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". The hands are blued-steel, and they along with the pendulum and gong are presumed original. The front glass
and decal are in excellent condition as they appear replaced. The case has a great look with the array of unique design elements. The
wood from the front appears in very good condition, although the wood that forms the arched sides of the clock has some of the wood
missing, some cracked and some appears to have been repaired in the past. There is a long thin wedge of wood (9" x 3/8" down to 0")
that is missing from the rear right of the upper surface of the base. Please take a close look at the 12 detailed pictures for condition.
The overall dimensions are 23-1/2" high x 13-1/4" wide x 4-1/2" deep and the clock weighs in at approximately 7 pounds. Key is included.
