Here is a great looking Antique Ansonia Mantel Clock with Bell Strike for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!

What a great case and topper on this Ansonia Mantel clock. I say this clock is uncommon as I cannot find one just like it online. This is the La France model from Ansonia. There is still much of the paper label on the back of the clock case. This clock dates to the 1880s.

Beautiful slate, and iron case on this one. The case is black with a great design with gold filled incising. I just see some minor chips to the slate case, no cracks, or repairs to it. Beautiful black trim pieces on the front of case around the clock face. The finish on the clock does have some minor loss to it. The clock has gold gilted metal triem pieces on the sides above and below the Lion\'s head. The lion\'s head is in place on boths sides with the gold trim ring thru it\'s mouth. The clock was probably made in the latter 1800s time frame.

The paper face on this clock is still in pretty good shape. Does show some wear. The bezel is securely attached to the case at the hinge. The glass is intact, no cracking or blistering. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock.

The topper also looks pretty good on this clock. The black metal urn bowl has lost some of its\' finish in places. Great metal trim pieces that are on the sides of the bowl and below. The urn topper just sits loosely on top of the clock, no nut there to secure in place.

As can be expectedwhen dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed aftershipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be verydelicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocksbefore, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have thepatience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are notour modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask anyquestions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
