Antique Art Nouveau 8 Piece Dresser/VanitySet, Sterling Silver, Marked F&B, Foster & Bailey, No Monogram, circa 1880

This beautiful Antique8 Piece Sterling SilverArt Nouveau Dresser/ Vanity Set is decorated with intertwining flowers andvines, is not monogrammed, and was made by Foster & Bailey circa 1878-1898. The set includes ahand mirror, Shoe horn, buckle hook, nail buffer, nail file, cream holder,powder box, and hair receiver. The hair receiver and powder box both haveAmerican Brilliant Cut glass containers. Each piece is marked with the Foster& Bailey mark, “F&B”, and “sterling”. Along with the above marks thefollowing pieces also have model numbers. The mirror is marked 2978, the hair receiver 3007 1/2, the powder box 3169, the nail buffer 3039, and the cream holder 3010. The approximatemeasurements of the pieces are as follows; The mirror is 11 inches long, 7 inches wide 5/8 inches thick. The hairreceiver is 4 inches in diameter 2 5/8 inches high. The powderbox 33/4 inchesin diameter 13/4 incheshigh. The cream holder is 1 3/4 inches diameter 1 5/8 inches high. The nailbuffer is 7 inches long, 2 inches wide, 2 1/8 inches high. The shoehorn 8 3/8 inches long 1 1/2 inches wide. The bucklehook 7 inches long 7/8 inches wide. The nailfile is 71/2 incheslong and 7/8 inches wide. The nail buffer shows wear and the mirror has yellowed. Otherthan the above mentioned and some tiny dings, this Art Nouveau vanity set is invery good antiquecondition. (See photos)
