I purchased this piece from a local man that moved here from Rosewater, Australia, a suburb of Adelaide. When he moved here he loaded up a shipping container with he and his wife’s stuff, and this was one of those items. He told me he purchased it from the estate of an elderly neighbor who passed. It looks quite old; my guess would be late 1800’s or early 1900’s. There are no markings or signatures. It’s made out of a medium colored wood with a darker stain. The two horizontal bars have 44.5” of usable space, with 46.5” being the total width. The sides pieces are 36.75” high.

It breaks down into four pieces, which is how it will be shipped. There are several areas with white discoloring, from what I assume is normal use. There are also minor nicks and scratches that you would expect. One of the top posts has a natural crack. Out of the four pieces of wood where the bars slide into the slots, three have a crack. I have pointed them out in two photos with pink arrows. The joint is a tight fit, so I’m guessing the cracks are from the pieces being taken apart and put together so many times. Structurally, it is still good and ready for herbs or towels.
