Offered is an exquisitely cast Bronze bas relief of a medieval man with crossbow and game.I can find no signature but it is very similar is style and motif to works by Austrian artist Karl Perl( March 3, 1876 – 1965)
The sculpture measures approximately 14 1/2 inches by 9 3/4 inches. The piece weighs 6 lbs, 8 ounces.
The border wear strongly suggests that this was once mounted on 3 sides perhaps as a part of a building structure There is also a post which protrudes from the rear approximately 3/4 of an inch out. The patina within the borders is in very nice condition. This would look very nice framed.
On the reverse, the numbers \"D-778\" appear with the text \"1 OFF\".
