This is a heavy brass over cast iron footed base with an ornate design, I was told it is probably a floor lamp base or microphone stand base--please use my photos to determine this for yourself. The center area at the top is bare cast iron(see photo #5). Measures about 12\" in diameter x 3.5\" high, the threads in the center look like 1/2\". It is very heavy at just under 7 pounds. On the underside it is marked \"1000\"(see photo #12). Condition is good, it has age tarnish and darkening , it has not been cleaned.
