Antique Bay State John C Haynes & Co Bowl Back 8 String Mandolin 1890s-1900s:

I had to do a little research on this family heirloom and learned that this 8 string Bay State mandolin is circa 1899s-1900s. The wood slats the make up the bowl of the mandolin are polished and in good condition considering the age. The slats do need to be aligned again in a couple of places, as with time the wood dried and perhaps warped a little. The front does have a few cracks and the tortoise shell butterfly looking piece has a crack and some lifting. I\'m not an expert on restoration, however I would imagine much of this could be worked on.
