This is a 19th Century Boston Style Toddler Chair. There is no tray because these early chairs had none. Seems to have been painted black at one time; traces on the bottom. Lots of original Boston Rockers circa 1850 had Black paint. Light in weight (approx. 6 lbs.), seems like all Pine. My intention when I bought it was to Broze Powder Stencil it, however, too many projects are waiting. Would look nice with a Crock or a Lantern in the seat and an old Tin Hogscraper Tin Candle hanging from the back.
