Easter is coming, so it is time to start thinking about decorating in your home, to accentuate your antiques and collectibles. This beautiful and unique piece of antique artwork, that I am offering for sale, is a wooden Egg Box, with its original decoupaged decoration. It was decorated with Victorian flower paper scraps, in the late 1800s. Decoupage was a popular pastime in Victorian days. The box itself is wood, and is in 2 pieces. The lid lifts off to reveal the original white painted surface, that has worn down to a beautiful mellow, aged patina. It was made by applying many layers of original beautiful flower Victorian Paper scraps. The wooden box was painted gold first. It measures approximately 8\" high and about 5\" diameter. The box is in wonderful condition. Just enough lovely, and wanted, age patina, to the surface, to show its age. There are only 3 slight scuffs to the paper. On the top of the lid, on the base and one on the side. They appear to have been there a long time. Show in photos. This was handmade, and is a one of a kind, antique piece of artwork.
