This is an unusual antique (late 19th century) arts & crafts style brass table lamp that was made to run off natural gas and has the original Welsbach gas burner and glass chimney intact. I have never had it hooked up to gas, so I don\'t know if the gas components are complete or working. The entire piece is original and the brass has acquired an aged patina. The lamp comes with the original eight panel caramel slag glass shade Two of the smaller panels along the bottom are cracked (one has a small chip where the crack is and the other is a clean, straight crack right down the middle) both visible from the photos. There is no other visible damage to the glass and all panels are securely attached in the shade frame. The lamp and shade both have four slots that a brass arm fits into to attach the shade to the lamp. The brass arms simply slide into the slots but are not secured in any way, so the shade is a little wobbly and can move easily when pressure is applied (when left alone, it stays in place.) The brass arms each have a hole in one end, so they might have once been secured somehow. The brass lamp post has some cracks at the bottom corners where it attaches to the base, but the base is securely attached and the cracks are only cosmetic. There is also a small crack around the collar of the burner, but it should no affect it\'s functionality at all.
The lamp stands 22 1/2\" H including the glass chimney, or 16 1/2\" without the chimney. The base measures 7\" square and the shade is 15 1/2\" square. All pieces will be packed securely in a heavy duty double walled box and fully insured during shipping.
