Up for sale we have a delightful Brass/Bronze Canopy for an Antique Light fixture. This piece weighs all by itself 1 1/2 pounds on the scale. The fluted decoration & elongated styling lead us to believe it was made the Turn of the last Century. This piece can hold a huge chandelier. It is in very good condition with only a little bend on the edge of one side. It has an original patina, we have not cleaned it. Inside is a strong rod having an older metal support hook for hanging it to a beam. The long loop at the bottom is nicely shaped as well and is all in great condition for hanging. This piece looks like a piece from the Tiffany style time period. But we do not have a marking to identify the maker. This canopy would enhance a variety of light fixtures that normally may come without such a beautiful Canopy. like the cherry on the sundae this piece would be great on an Art Nouveau, Victorian or Arts & Crafts hanging lamp. The Canopy measures 9 5/8\" long by aprox 6 1/4\" in dia. at the top plate edge where the original screw holes are. The brass rod inside goes down 3 1/2 inches before it hits a solid brass inner liner. Really an attractive piece for many lighting applications. Email for any questions or more pictures.
