Estate Piece! A fabulous rare antique bronze sculpture by French artist Jean Louis Gregoire (1840-1890) Paris, France, draped nude seated, casted by The Societe Des Bronzes De Paris. So elegant, finely sculpted bronze, young semi nude draped women seated with one hand out and the other holding a flute, 25\" in height, 13.5\" by 10\" with a 9\" base, hallmarked \"L Gregoire\" with the \"Societe Des Bronzes De Paris\" seal, total weight 55 pounds, estimated value $3,000 to $5,000, some of Gregoire bronze have sold at Christies, London sale House. In weather worn condition, found outside, had a base once as you can see where it was connected underneath and the rusted screws on the sides, these could be removed to restore it back to a flat base. The patina needs a good waxing and cleaning could be restored back to it\'s natural beauty by a professional, would be gorgeous on a marble base stand. A rare piece of bronze art by Jean Louis Gregoire that would only complement your Art collection. The artist, A native of Paris, Jean Louis Gregoire attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1867. Along with other young sculptors of his day, Gregoire specialized in female allegorical figure groups, often depicting mythological characters and historical archetypes. Among his better known works are The Dance, Psyche, Cleopatra and Allegro. A testament to the quality and timelessness of his work, some of Gregoire\'s works have been reproduced in modern times, but the artist\'s originals were kept to strict limited-edition numbers which he signed \"L. Gregoire.\"
