This Antique Door Knocker was constructed in an asymmetrical Victorian Rococo style. The striker has a traditional S-shaped form resembling scrolling blades of grass. The strike plate is beautifully cast featuring a cherub engulfed in blooming flowers. With his right hand the cherub is clutching the drapery that\'s flowing around him and the flowers. This is an absolutely beautiful door knocker. The craftsmanship is superb. Construction is solid cast iron, French. The door knocker is not new. It is a salvaged item and has signs of age and use.
