Here we have A VERY HEAVY AND LARGE AZTEC MAYAN CHESS SET!!! THE PHOTOS DO NOT EVEN COME CLOSE DOING THIS BEAUTIFUL LARGE HAND CARVED PIECES OF ART HISTORY JUSTICE!It is made from wood, quartz and alabaster from the mountains of Rumorosa outside of Ensenada Mexico. There are very few of these made and come around seldom it represents the historical war between the Aztec Indians and Captain Cortez from Spain. The carving of all the pieces are different as the white represent the AZTEC INDIANS AND THE BLACK REPRESENT CAPTAIN CORTEZ AND HIS MEN!!! I do not know the age of the piece but do know that I have found Mexico inscribed on the sides in at least two places. There is a lot of hand carving of the wood on the sides and figurals of the box or board. The top of the chess board as well as the sides and the handles of the drawers as well as the chess pieces are all made of stone. There is a drawer on two sides of the board which slides out to hold all of the chess pieces. There are 2 dragon heads in the middle of each of the drawers as well as on the sides that are not drawers. This piece measures 21\" by 21\" and is 5 1/4\" tall. The tallest chess piece measures 7\" tall. There are a few scratches and occasional nick but all in all this BEAUTIFUL RARE PIECE has been untouched for repairs of any kind that I can find. IT IS TRULY A ONE OF A KIND PIECE!!! THIS IS TRULY A COLLECTORS PIECE!!! It weighs over 30 pounds and will be shipped accordingly for safe arrival!!! BECAUSE OF THE SIZE WEIGHT AND THE FRAGILE NATURE OF THIS ITEM THERE ARE NO RETURNS AS I DON\'T WANT THIS SHIPPED ALL OVER THE PLACE.
