A hardwood, carpenter\'s level with brass hardware made by the Baker McMillen Co. in Akron, OH USA. This I-beam carpenter\'s level is completely original, not cleaned and has two liquid glass vials that are in working condition (see images). The level measures 24\" L x 1 1/4\" W x 3\" H and weighs 2 lbs 4oz. The hardware is brass and the top brass plate is inscribed with \"BAKER McMillen Co. Akron, O. U.S.A.\" and decorated with several flaring lines (see images). The brass plate is dirty and has a small dent near one of its four original screws (see images). However, it maintains a great original patina and the dent could be easy repaired. The vertical glass vial level in held with brass hardware and was inserted into a hole in the wooden beam. These holes were capped with wooden plugs. The top wooden plug has a rich dark color and is a nice contrast to the lighter hardwood beam but the bottom wooden plug is missing (see images). The heavy, hardwood beam has a smooth natural finish. The wooden beam is dirty but it is in fair cosmetic condition with a rich original patina (see images). It has stains, scuffs, scratches, bird droppings and a few shallow chips and cracks from use and age (see images). However, all parts of the level are securely fastened together and this antique carpenter\'s level is in working condition. This piece is a Kansas barn find acquire from the estate of an avid tool collector and carpenter. A great, working, antique carpenter\'s level that with enhance any tool collection.
