Antique & Collectible late 19th Century hand carved agate Duck head, 14K yellow gold, guilloche enamel& wood parasol handle

A stunning hand carved handle depicting a Duck’s head

The duck is realized by askillful artist’s hands from expertly selected one solid piece of multi-color Agate

One part of the stone fromwhich the actual head is carved is greenish blue color with marbling shades ofpink, red and orange.

The head is nicelydimensional, the carving shows realistic details and anatomically correctfeatures, such as chubby cheeks, defined eyes & finely carved feathers.

The beak part of the samestone is in grayish brown color also superbly and realistically carved toresemble a real duck’s beak

Small brown eyes are madefrom glass-like stone or bead and set on both side of the head

The wooden shaft in dark brown color highlighted on the top bywhite guilloche enamel within two 14K yellow gold bezels. The bottom of the shaftterminates in a 14K gold tip and fitted with a metal screw

Condition:

Very good to excellent. The duck head has a small hairline onthe back of the head but due to marble characteristic of the stone, it blendsin and not noticeable. No other damages noted on the stone. Enamel is inpristine condition, no chips, cracks or other damages. The wooden shaft has fewscuffs & scratches due to age.
