Awonderful piece of history fromwell over100 years ago

CARVED EAGLE

Antique /Americana

Circa 1800’s

Emblematicfragment / spread wing eagle with profusely carved details that reflect the handof a skilled craftsman

This carving isset in a - large - deep molded frame

Both eagle and framehave an old gold color paint that has darkened beautifully with the passing oftime and age

APPROX. MEASUREMENTS: FRAME:18-1/2\"x 22-1/2\" EAGLE: Wing span 14\" x 10-1/2\" High

ARROW: 13\" Wide

APPROX. WEIGHT: 9.6 Lbs.

NOTE: Antiquecarving mounted and held with screws on a wooden panel covered in a blackvelvet fabric (Fabric has some tears)

The frame and the eagle appear to havestarted life around the same time period as both have matching old and possibly original paint

In recent decades forwhatever reason the eagle was mounted on the current panel which is not as old as the frame or eagle

Theeagle wings have a flat area which makes one wonder what this fragmentsoriginallywasintendedfor when it

started life or if perhaps it was always meant to bedisplayed prominently in this frame
