This is an 1880\'s original cast iron mechanical owl bank in good working condition. The metal has a fantastic deep, rich patina, but almost all of the original paint is worn away, however I don\'t see any rust or any obvious pitting. The original glass eyes are intact. The moving mechanisms work smoothly and easily; when the lever is pushed down, the head turns and drops the coin into the slot on the side, and when the lever is released, it pops back up and the head turns back to face forward again. The bottom is marked with patent dates of Sept 2 & 28th 1880. The plug on the bottom is missing.The bank measures 3 3/4\" L x 3\" W x 7 1/2\" H. It will be packed very well and insured during shipping.
