ANTIQUE CHARLES DICKENS PLATE IN COBALT BY ROWLAND AND MARSELLUSThis handsome English cobalt plate commemorates Charles Dickens. His image appears in the center and around the edge of the plate are images of his birthplace, his house, and scenes from some of his books (such as Bleak House, Nicholas Nickelby, and Oliver Twist. The plate is a full 10 inches in diameter and was made by Rowland and Marsellus. The patent date for the plate is 1904. The color is still as rich and vibrant as ever and the details in the images are remarkable.
