Description

An Antique Figural Hand Carved Block Meerschaum and Silver Collared Tobacco Pipe, in the form of a Hand and Lower Arm, the Collar Hallmarked for Chester 1909.

The Collar also bears the Mark MF, as far as I can determine this is most probably for Montague Friedlander, but may just possibly be for Maurice Freeman.

The nicely carved Meerschaum Clay Bowl has some signs of surface wear, patina, and the odd very small knock due to age and use, but it is still in very good order, structurally intact with no major damage, and all as shown very clearly in the Photographs.

There is as can be seen surface crazing to the Meerschaum in places, this is just that, and not deep, structural or serious.

The Stem is worn but intact.

The Stem, Collar and Bowl are firmly together and I have not attempted to dissemble them.

The Case is slightly worn but intact and serviceable with working Catch and Hinges.

All is as shown comprehensively in the many pictures, please examine them in close up before you offer, to satisfy yourself as to condition, suitability, etc. of the item(s) shown.

The Pipe measures approx\' :- 12.50 cms Longest end to end x 5.0 cms High at the Bowl.

A lovely gift, accessory and / or addition to a collection.

It weighs approx\' :- 36.80 gms, not Cased and unpacked, and 78.0 gms Cased.
