This bronze sculpture depicts a Chinese scholar reading a scroll. There are three hanzi on the scroll. On the bearded scholar’s back, a group of characters are impressed in a circle. The bronze has a deep brown color and was made in the 19th century. There are some scratches on the back but the piece is in very good condition.
