This listing is for an antique 19th century deeply carved Chinese wood panel. The panel measures 19 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches or 49.5 by 36.8cm. It is deeply and three dimensionally carved out of one piece of wood. The panel is in its painted and partially gilt decoration. The panel shows an interlocking lattice design in the background with a tall pagoda on the left hand side and flowering cherry blossom trees next to it leading down to the figures at the base. The carving has a gilded patina which is all original to the piece. The carving is in overall good condition; there is a small section of missing lattice at the bottom center, but this does not take away from the piece. This is a beautifully and masterfully made carving, very attractive and again quite old; this is not a modern 20th century copy.
