Antique Chinese Gold Couching Embroidered Dragon Phoenix Han Wedding Skirt

This antique Chinese gold couching embroidered dragon phoenix Han wedding skirt dates from the 1920s. It is made of a pink silk fabric, with bright colorful raised padded satin stitch and gold thread couching hand embroidery work. There are gold embroidered dragons with rainbow colored waves of water along the bottom on both of the two matching apron panels and a dragon with phoenix embroidered together which symbolize Yin and Yang representing power hidden along the bottom side pleated folds. This Han women\'s wedding skirt has a wrap around style, with a wide blue cotton waistband, colorful silk damask weave ribbon trim with flowers, fruit, black silk trim edging and is fully lined in a blue silk fabric inside. The skirt measures 38 inches long, with a 50 inch wide waist. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a rare and amazing piece of wearable antique Chinese textile art!
