Antique ChineseEnamel on Copper Pedestaled Dish, Mid-Late 19th Century

We are pleased to offer this lovely and rare antique Chinese painted enamel on copper pedestaled dish from the private collection of a world traveler. This piece was acquired sometime in the mid 20th century and is a wonderful example of the art! The top of the dish is decorated with the eight Buddhist emblems amongst flowering sprigs with leaves and stems on a gorgeous cobalt blue background color. The painted decorations are also embellished with gold highlights, much of which still remains intact and along the edge of the dish, in a repeating gold tassel pattern. Beneath the dish, surrounding the pedestal,is a paintedpetaledlotus flower in yellow, whiteand pink, then further outwards, towards the edge is a scrolling stylizedborderwith budding, flowering and leafy vines in shades of blues and white also on a cobalt background. The pedestal itself starts with a turquoise color collar that changes to cobalt on the swelled ringof the neck. Thendownwards, this followed by a row of colorful lappets and ending at the gentlyflaredbase with another row of continuous flowering, leafy sprigs. Again as on the top, gold embellishes much of the decorative elements of the pedestal. The underside of the pedestal is white and posses a double red triangle mark as shown in the photographs above. Both the top rim of the dishand bottom section of the pedestal is edged in brass. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details and to determine if this piece meets with your collecting requirements. Please contact seller with any questions or requests for additional photographs.

Measurements: The pedestaled dish stands approximately 2 3/4 inches from the table. The top of the dish is approximately 6 inches in diameter. The bottom rim is approximately 3 3/8 inches in diameter. All measurements are approximate, but close.

Condition: We examined this piece carefully. We found NO Chips, Cracks, Scratches, Repairs or Restorations to note. Normal wear to the gold embellishment is normal and should be expected, but much of it still remains intact. Please take the time to review all the photographs for more details.
