Antique Chinese Pair Yoke Back Arm Chairs Carved Splat

This nice pair of chairs is referred to as Official\'s hatchairs, or Yoke-back chairs.
The curved splat back features nice pierced carvings. The center carving is a Qi Lin. The Qi Lin is a mythical creature, sometimes called a Chinese Unicorn that has a dragon head, a horse\'s body with the scales of a Koi.
The top rail is a yoke style with carved scroll designs on each end. The scroll carving is also on the end of each of the gracefully curved arms. The round arm supports also have unusual curves.
The seats have a flat recessed panel with a molded detail around the edge.
The fronts have a aprons are under the seats and tapersdown the legs. The edge is beaded and there is a carving in the center.
Each side has a double stretcher with the outside edge rounded. There is a very simple apron on each side under the seat.
The back side has a single stretcher.
A small section carvings are missing on one chair. The splat back on the other chair is slightly skewed. These chairs are by no means perfect, as seen in the photos and as the price reflects, but they are functional as well as very decorative.
