This antique Chinese red silk blue forofferden stitch embroidery figural roundel robe trim dates from the late 19th century during the Qing Dynasty. It is made of a red silk fabric, with varying shades of blue ombre finely done tiny forofferden stitch Peking knot hand embroidery work of a figural scene Chinese characters, women, fans, a pagoda shrine temple, trees, flowers and butterflies. This beautifully embroidered roundel medallion textile fragment remnant might have come off of an older Manchu robe, Han skirt or wedding ceremonial wall hanging banner and has been professionally matted onto a newer silk damask weave patterned fabric border trim matting, with a blue silk backing suitable and ready for framing. The embroidered cloth measures 10 inches inches wide and with the additional framed matting is 16 inches wide. It is in good condition, with only a paper tag remnant and ink writing on the back. This is truly a beautiful piece of antique Chinese textile embroidery art!
