Antique Chinese Silver/Jade/Onyx Bowl - Possibly Qing Dynasty:
$100.00

Old hand-made Chinese bowl. Stamped with the \"pure silver\" Chinese character(s) that was the characteristic marking of the Qing Dynasty where silver was basically a unit of currency - see the picture of the bowl\'s bottom. I bought this at a very rural antique market in SW China in the 90\'s when I lived there, so really can\'t say for sure how old this is. When I left, the government inspectors called this \'old\' but not as old as Ming Dynasty which was the cutoff for paying taxes at the time. The salesperson called it red jade, but I think it is more like what I would call onyx. See how the light comes through it. The silver art - traditional Asian dragon and phoenix are very detailed and unblemished. I have several others, essentially identical bowls but in different colors. White, green and another red. If you are interested in more of a set rather than a single bowl, please contact me. Thanks.
