This little Locket has it all! Civil War CONFEDERATE soldier tinted tintype,woven locksof hair from the loved one,a monogram, engraving on BOTH sides, a solid catch that clicks firmly closed, and a sentiment that should bring you to tears.

This locket measures 1 inchtall, by 3/4 inches wide, by 1/4 inch thick.

Although hard to make out because of it\'s intricacy, the monogram appears to be GSA. It is difficult to see in these photos, but up close and in person, I am fairly certain these are the letters depicted. The case is of an unknown gold toned metal. The locks of woven hair are a medium brown. This soldier appears to haveperished while in the service of theConfederate Infantry, given the light colored piping encircling his collar. The CSA used three colors to designate the separate branches of the services. Yellow for the Cavalry, red for the Artillery, and light blue for Infantry. In a tintype, red and yellow both appear very dark, almost black, but blue will show up much lighter as in this image. It is unfortunate that we only have his initials ofGSA. He will forever have to remain one of ournation\'s unknown, but not unmourned heroes.
