Here we have a rather rare find and that would be a 125 year old Disston rip saw that is still in EXCELLENT condition! ...This saw is a classic open top no. 7 with the medallion and etch dating it to the late 1880s to the 1890s or so. Has a straight as an arrow 28 inch blade which has 5 teeth per inch and is marked on the heel with a faint 5. Teeth are sharpened RIP and are sharp though could use a touch up. No broken, missing or deformed teeth. No pitting or damage to the blade, some staining and dark from age but not pitted. Will clean if you so desire. Blade measures about 7 inch from spine to teeth in front of the handle...this is a big saw that hasn\'t been sharpened much. Still has a perfect nib on the blade.Nice readable etch that looks better then it does in my photo. Beautiful original handle with no cracks , breaks or repairs. One sliver of loss under the top horn, please see my photo of it. Minor. No owner marks and saw nuts are original. Handle even has traces of the original paper labels. A pretty amazing 125 year old saw that just never saw much use and was well taken care of.
