Elegant Antique Dresden Gilt and Polychrome Decorated Vase. The beige vase has a tapering ovoid form with a tapering neck. The vase is decorated with a hand painted central frieze depicting fashionably dressed courting couples against a gilt ground. The garments are very colorful and detailed. The band across the central frieze has a heart design. Tiny gilt beaded bands trim the scene. Slightly raised gilt designs trim the neck that include flowers and leaves. At the base, a gilt band includes wreaths, leaves, and ribbons. The interior is white. The base is marked, \"Dresden Germany, 50/4\" with the blue lamb mark and a gilt rose. There is also an impressed mark.SIZE: 7 1/2 inches high x 4 1/2 inches wide.CONDITION: Consistent with age, the vase has slight wear -- gilt wear --some scuff marks and scratching to gold ground around the figures. There are no chips or cracks -- nice condition. There are a couple interior stain marks on the bottom, outer rim which I will try to remove.Beautiful, unique vase.
