Description & Condition:
Please review all photos with care. Magic Lantern is in good shape for its age. There is some paint loss from usage, but no corrosion or rust. It is missing the internal features, such as small glass chimney, oil burner with wick. Unsure if there was an additional \"tin chimney\" that extended from the top of the lantern. Side door opens and closes with ease. Slides move in and out of front with ease. 12 slides are included. Slide show wear from use, one in particular with portraits is quite worn, however, colors and scenes are bright and vibrant with wonderful detail. Box, while used, is in good shape. Hinges are still intact and tight. There is wear to the papered and painted exterior as well as the interior. Came fron non-smoking residence. No musty odors. Has front hook mechanism still intact. Box seals well. Top lithograph is intact, shows some wear, but no major loss, with the exception of a small chip front lower front center of piece. States \"Made In Germany\" Interior label is clear with no staining and intact. Slide holders were handmade and show as such.

The Ernst Plank Company was located in the Nuremberg Germany, beginning in the 1860s. Planks\' company also made tin toy steamboats and train sets. The company survived World War I, but the Magic Lantern production gradually ceased in the 1920s, with the company being sold in the 1930s.Questions:
