Antique Early 19th Century Tin Three Window Punch Candle Lantern:

This Is A Super Antique Punched Tin Candle Lantern With Three Glass Windows. This Form Is Quite Rare To Find With The Three Windows. It Is In Great Condition For Its Age. It Looks Like It Was Painted A White Color On The Inside A While Back. Maybe To Stop Corrosion From Happening On The Inside. Sometimes These Are Called Paul Revere Lanterns With The Punched Design Slits On The Top. With The Three Glass Windows When A Candle Was Burned It Produced Much More Light For A Larger Area. The Glass Windows Look Smoke Damage Free. The Three Glass Windows Are Solid And Do Not Move. I Cannot Tell If They Might Have Been Replaced At Some Time As They Do Not Have Any Bubbles Or Swirls In Them. The Door Hinges Are Early And Work Perfect. The Door Latch Is Also Original And Latches And Unlatches Fine. It Has The Cleated Candle Cup As Seen From The Bottom Of The Piece. This Design Was Used In The Earlier Lanterns. It Measures 13 Inches Tall And About 5 Inches Wide. The Loop On Top Seems Secure So You Could Hang This Lamp In Your Home If You Desired. Great Lantern!!
